What is Low Level Laser Therapy?
Also now known as PhotoBioModulation (PBM), the laser delivers controlled light energy which increases biological activity of the body. This increased biological activity stimulates the body’s natural healing processes, decreasing healing time and restoring normal cellular function.
What is it used for?
I use it in conjunction with my treatments to help speed up the recovery of soft tissue injuries and to relieve pain and inflammation in sites of muscle tension or damage. As well as this, it can help speed up recovery on a range of other problems the animal may have, including:
- Bowed tendons
- Any sort of wound
- Capped hock
- Bone spavin
- Hoof thrush
- Skin conditions
- Bone fractures
- Ligament/ tendon injuries
- Mud fever
- And many more…..
How it works
It speeds up the healing process by increased cell proliferation and permeability of the cell membrane and increased ATP and protein uptake in cells.
Delivers pain relief by increasing endorphin and serotonin production and suppressing nociceptor activity.
Helps the immune system by increasing lymphocyte activity and photomodulation of the blood.
